Description

We’ve been trying to eat more fish to get those good omegas in us that we keep hearing about!! I just love this Cedar Plank Salmon … and surprisingly so does our 2 year old. It’s a simple and nice way to grill up some salmon.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Cedar Plank
  • 1 whole Salmon Filet
  • 2 pinches Kosher Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Club House La Grille Salmon Seasoning

Preparation

Directions:
1) Soak cedar plank(s) in water for 1 or 2 hours. You soak them to help them not catch on fire in the grill, and also to create some steam when grilling. If you soak them more than 2 hours the cedar flavoring lessens.
2) Buy some nice salmon fillets. We buy ours from Costco and it’s skinless, which is what I prefer, but skin-on is fine as well.
3) Fire up BBQ grill. Crank it up to high to get hot, then turn down the burners that will be directly under the salmon.
4) Sprinkle your cedar plank with kosher or coarse salt. This helps the salmon not to stick to the board.
5) Place salmon on salted plank and season with Club House La Grill Salmon Seasoning.
6) Place salmon in BBQ grill (remember to turn down the burners directly under to prevent board from burning), close lid and try to keep it closed for the entire 15-20 minutes of cooking. Of course, open the lid if you think the plank might be on fire!

I bought some cedar planks about a month ago but have yet to make my salmon. Thanks for this recipe. Today is the first day in a while that won’t be 100 degrees outside. Maybe we can fire up the grill now!
