Description

No-fry American/Chinese chicken and veggies! There is no actual bourbon in this recipe, but I still promise it’s delicious! Spicy and sweet! Serve with white rice.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 2 pounds Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
  • 1 clove Garlic, Minced
  • ¼ teaspoons Ginger, Ground
  • ¾ teaspoons Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
  • ¼ cups Apple Juice
  • ⅓ cups Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Ketchup
  • 1 Tablespoon Cider Vinegar
  • ½ cups Water
  • ⅓ cups Soy Sauce
  • 2 cups Broccoli Florets
  • ½ cups Chopped Green Onions
  • 1 Tablespoon Cornstarch, Dissolved In Equal Amount Of Water

Preparation

Heat oil in large skillet over medium high heat. Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces. Add chicken to skillet and cook until light brown, then remove it from the skillet.

Add all of the remaining ingredients into the skillet (everything except the broccoli, green onions and cornstarch), and heat until well mixed and dissolved.

Add chicken and bring to a hard boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.

Add the vegetables and cook 5 minutes more. Thicken sauce by stirring in the cornstarch paste.

Serve over rice.
