Description

This deliciously cheesy baked ziti recipe is easy to whip up on a busy weeknight and it’s also totally satisfying. Use fresh mozzarella and fresh basil to kick it up a notch and make this go-to recipe decadent!

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 3-½ cups Dry Ziti Or Penne
  • 1 jar Marinara Sauce (23.5oz Jar)
  • 1 cup Whole Milk Ricotta
  • 1-½ cup Shredded Mozzarella
  • ½ cups Shredded Parmesan
  • ½ teaspoons Sea Salt Plus Extra For The Pasta Water
  • 2 Tablespoons Dried Basil (or Use Fresh - Even Better!)

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 400°F and coat the bottom of a 9×13″ baking dish with the olive oil.

Bring a large pot of water with 2 tablespoons of salt to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions for al dente (about 10 minutes). Drain it.

Mix the marinara, ricotta, 3/4 cup mozzarella, half of the Parmesan, 1/2 teaspoon salt and the basil together in a large bowl. Add the pasta, gently folding it in to coat completely.

Pour the pasta mixture into the prepared baking dish, top it with the remaining cheeses (and more basil if you want).

Bake it for about 20 minutes, or until the baked ziti is bubbly and golden brown on top. Serves 6 and reheated leftovers great!

Delicious! I used a garlic sauce and it was great. Husband is on his third helping!
