Kohlrabi, according to Wikipedia, is a root in the cabbage family, and come June you can find it in most any farmer’s market or CSA box. If you can’t lay hands on a kohlrabi, you could certainly make this with cabbage. But I would encourage you to be on the lookout for this ‘cabbage turnip.’ The crisp, firm julliennes are really perfect in this slaw.
Combine the kohlrabi, carrots, jalapeno, and red onion. Whisk together lime zest and lime juice and yogurt and toss to combine with vegetables. Mix in the cilantro. Add salt and pepper to taste.
An excellent topping for shrimp or fish tacos.
