A refreshing highlight of the spring season.
Wash and cut up your fruit.
Put it all in a bowl.
Zest one lemon into the bowl with fruit.
Add sugar to a small saucepan.
Add the juice of the lemons to the saucepan and bring to a boil.
Dissolve the sugar and boil till slightly thick.
Turn off heat and add the basil.
Steep basil in the lemon syrup for 5 minutes.
Pour lemon basil syrup over the fruit salad.
Feel free to use whatever fruit you have on hand. Any will do.
