This is fun and delicious! Great for parties or anytime, and surprisingly easy. Bake potatoes and load them up with homemade cheese sauce, broccoli, bacon, green onions, and sour cream.
Place cleaned and pricked potatoes in aluminum foil. Add 1 teaspoon butter on each and wrap with foil. Place in oven and bake at 350ºF for 1 hour, or until soft.
While potatoes are baking, steam broccoli and fry bacon.
For the homemade cheese sauce, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add flour and whisk for 1 minute. Slowly whisk in milk. Season with salt and pepper. Stir and cook until thickened, about 4–5 minutes.
Remove from heat and add cheese. Stir until melted and smooth.
Serve immediately on top over potatoes, along with steamed broccoli, crumbled bacon, green onions, sour cream, and any of your favorite fixin’s!
