Savory golden brown bread oozing with melted cheese in a crispy and satisfying waffle shape. Great for kids or a party finger food!
Preheat waffle iron according to manufacturer’s instructions.
Spread butter/margarine evenly over one side of each bread slice. Lay one of the slices on the waffle iron, buttered side down. Top the non-buttered side of the bread with the cheese, and then add the remaining bread slice, with the buttered side up.
Close the waffle iron. At first you may not be able to close it all the way. Wait for the bread to heat up a bit, then close it fully. Cook until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted. Shut waffle iron off, and remove grilled cheese when cool enough to handle. Enjoy!
