Description

I love me some barbecued chicken.

Ingredients

  • FOR THE CHICKEN:
  • 6 whole Chicken Breasts (bone In And Skin On)
  • Salt And Pepper
  • FOR THE BBQ SAUCE:
  • 1 cup Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 cup Ketchup
  • ½ cups Maple Syrup
  • ¼ teaspoons Brown Mustard
  • ¼ cups Light Brown Sugar
  • ½ cups Honey
  • ¼ cups Molasses
  • 1 teaspoon Liquid Smoke
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • ¼ teaspoons Pepper
  • ½ teaspoons Cayenne Pepper

Preparation

In a saucepan over medium heat, saute the onion and garlic with the olive oil. When onion is just about caramelized add ketchup, maple syrup, brown mustard, brown sugar, honey, molasses, Liquid Smoke, salt, pepper and cayenne pepper. Stir all together then bring to a boil. Then, lower heat and let the sauce reduce for about 20 minutes.

Heat your grill to 350 F.

Add salt and pepper to the chicken breasts. Once grill is hot add the chicken. Cook chicken breasts, turning them about every five minutes and sauce with each turn, until internal temperature reads 170 F. This will take about 10 to 15 minutes total per side, but will also depend on the thickness of the chicken.
