Description

Beef and pork burgers stuffed with feta cheese and topped with a tomato, cucumber and green pepper salad.

Ingredients

  • FOR THE BURGERS:
  • ½ pounds Ground Beef
  • ½ pounds Ground Pork
  • 4 stalks Green Onions, Cleaned, Thinly Sliced, White Parts Only
  • Salt And Pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup Crumbled Feta Cheese
  • ½ teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • 4  Burger Buns
  • FOR THE SALAD:
  • 1 whole Tomato, Cut Into Thin Wedges
  • 1 whole Green Banana Pepper, Thinly Sliced Rounds
  • 1 whole Cucumber, Thinly Sliced
  • 1 whole Small Onion, Roughly Chopped
  • Salt And Pepper, to taste
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • ½ Tablespoons White Vinegar

Preparation

Preheat grill to medium heat.

In a large mixing bowl combine beef, pork, onions, salt and pepper; mix it all together. Shape the hamburger meat into patties that are about 1/2 inch thick, and about the diameter of a hamburger bun (you’ll get 8 or so out of this amount of meat). On half of the patties make an indentation in the center. Set patties aside.

In a small bowl combine feta cheese and garlic powder. Fill the indentations with the feta mixture. Top each patty that has feta on top with another patty and press to seal the edges.

Place your burgers on the hot grill. Cook for 7 minutes; turn and cook for another 5 to 7 minutes, or until done.

In the meantime, prepare the salad. In a large bowl combine all of the salad ingredients and stir gently until thoroughly combined.

Take burgers off the grill and place on buns. Top with prepared salad.
Serve.
