Description

Oh kale, oh kale. This vegetable is rich in almost any vitamin you can think of. Kale is one of your best sources of beta-carotene, one of the antioxidants believed to be a major player in the battle against cancer, heart disease, and certain age-related chronic diseases. So not only does it do wonders for your body it’s also an incredibly delicious snack when backed with olive oil and salt!

Ingredients

  • 1 head Kale (Washed) Or A 10 Ounce Bag Of Pre-packaged Kale (I Get Mine At Trader Joes In California)
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • ½ Tablespoons Sea Salt (or More To Taste)

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 325ºF.

If you are using a head of kale, wash and dry your kale and cut into 2-inch square pieces. I leave the ribs in because I like them but you may cut yours out if you wish. If you are using a bag of pre-cut and pre-washed kale, you are already good to go.

Spread kale out flat on a baking sheet (I used 2 baking sheets for a bag of kale) and toss with olive oil and sea salt. You can add more salt after they bake. Bake until crisp, about 10 to 15 minutes. The tops of most of the leaves will start browning. You can take the flip the kale halfway through the cooking process if you want everything crisp on both sides. Not every single piece will be really crunchy. That’s okay!

Serve as finger food and sprinkle with more salt if desired.

I found if they aren’t quite as crispy as you like at the end of the baking time, just leave them in the oven with the heat shut off – they will continue to crisp but not get burned.

Thanks for this recipe! I had kale in the fridge and didn’t know what to do with it.These salty “chips” turned out great. What an easy snack in the afternoon.

Sprinkled some garlic powder and salt on, turned off the oven and left them in there longer to crisp them up more, yummy!
