Description

Just can’t put your fork down when you start eating this.
It’s a keeper! You can change up the ingredients based on your preferences.

Ingredients

  • 8 slices Bacon
  • 3 pounds Ground Beef
  • 1 whole Onion, Choppped
  • 1 whole Green Or Red Pepper, Core And Seeds Removed, Then Chopped
  • 2 cans Pizza Sauce, 4 Ounce Cans
  • ¼ cups Shredded Parmesan Cheese
  • 3 whole Roma Tomatoes, Chopped
  • 2 cans (4 Oz. Size) Sliced Mushrooms, Well Drained
  • 1 package 24 Oz Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 3 whole Eggs
  • 1-½ cup Milk
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1-½ cup Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Italian Seasoning
  • 1 dash Red Pepper Flakes
  • ½ teaspoons Salt

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 350F.
2. Cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Then remove bacon from the pan and drain grease from pan.
3. Add beef, onion, peppers into the same skillet and cook over medium heat till beef is browned.
4. Stir in pizza sauce and parmesean cheese and mix to combine.
5. Spoon mixture into an un-greased 9 x 13 pan.
6. Sprinkle tomatoes, mushrooms and any other pizza topping you may like (I use pepperoni) over the top.
7. Top with the shredded cheddar cheese.
8. In a medium bowl, beat eggs slightly.
9. Mix in milk, oil, flour, Italian seasoning, pepper flakes and salt. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed.
10. Pour evenly over the pizza mixture.
11. Bake for 30-45 minutes or until topping is lightly puffed and deep golden brown.

Note: If after adding pizza sauce, it looks too dry, add another can of pizza sauce. You do not want it too dry but also not too saucy.

I made this tonight and it turned out really well. I forgot to read the entire recipe before shopping, so I didn’t add pepperoni, but followed the recipe pretty closely otherwise. I used 2.25 lbs of beef and a whole package of bacon. I might use a little less Italian seasoning next time, because it was a little too much oregano for me, but my husband loved it as-is. We’ll be making this one again. Thanks for posting!

I made this for my family tonight. We all loved it! I was a little unsure, since two of my three kiddos can be picky, but everyone gave this a thumbs up! I didn’t use any bacon, just cooked onions and peppers with beef, added some pepperoni slices on top of the meat mixture, and used grated mozzarella rather than cheddar. I can’t say it tasted quite like pizza, but it was definitely good!!
