Description

Easy, flavorful and quick sandwiches! These are found most often in the Mid-Atlantic states as a favorite lunch option.

Ingredients

  • 1 package (16 Oz. Size) Taylor Pork Roll (found In The Meat Section Of Your Grocery Store)
  • 2 Tablespoons Canola Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Sweet Cream Butter
  • ¼ cups Mayonnaise
  • 3 Tablespoons Grainy Brown Mustard
  • 4 whole Kaiser Rolls, Hamburger (over-size Rolls) Any Type You Like
  • Any Other Condiments You Like, Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Bacon, Etc.

Preparation

On a cutting board open the package of Taylor pork roll and remove it from the plastic packaging. Lay four slices on top of each other and make small slits (about 4 slits that are 1/4″ long) around the edge of the slices. This will prevent the pork roll from curling up during cooking time. Repeat with remaining slices.

In a frying pan add oil and butter on medium heat. When melted and hot add 4 slices of pork roll (you will cook in two batches) and fry up each side until golden and crisp. This will take about 3-4 minutes per side. Place cooked pork on paper towels to absorb any excess fat. Repeat with the rest of the pork slices.

In a small bowl add the mayonnaise and grainy mustard and mix with a spatula. Add some of this to the cut sides of each Kaiser roll/or bun you have chosen. Then add the pork slices and any other condiments you like. Add the top bun and serve. Serve with chips, potato salad, coleslaw, pickles! Enjoy.

Note: Taylor Pork Roll is available here in the refrigerated aisle near pork sausage and breakfast sausage.
