Description

I got this recipe from my aunt when I was in high school and I was looking for easy and yummy recipes. This recipe fits the bill.

Ingredients

  • 1 container (8 Oz. Tube) Crescent Rolls
  • 1 bag (about 11 Oz. Size) Crushed Doritos, Or As Needed
  • 1-½ pound Ground Beef
  • 1 package (about 1 Oz. Packet) Taco Seasoning
  • 8 ounces, weight Sour Cream
  • 2 cans (14 Oz. Size) Petite Diced Tomatoes
  • 2 dashes Cayenne Pepper
  • 3 dashes Garlic Powder
  • 3 cups Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese

Preparation

Place crescent rolls in the bottom of a 9″x13″ pan. Sprinkle some Doritos over the crust (about half the bag). Brown the beef; drain. Then add taco seasoning, sour cream and tomatoes. Season with cayenne pepper and garlic powder then spread on top of Doritos. Cover with cheese, then top with the remaining Doritos. Bake, uncovered at 350ºF for 25-30 minutes.

This was delicious. I doubled the recipe, but still used a single 9×13 pan, because we really like our casseroles hearty. It meant that I couldn’t put as much cheese or Doritos on top, but there was still plenty. Also, I used Rotel for the tomatoes and added a few dashes of chili powder to spice it up even more. I will definitely be making this one again.

it was tasty but the texture of my crescent rolls were kinda off / underdone. Could have been user error though ;) Hub really liked it – major comfort food!

So good! I used a can of tomatoes that had sweet onions which added some extra yumminess! Thanks for the recipe.

Easy and delicious. The ground beef can be substituted with refried beans for a meatless alternative.
