Description

So my husband and I love BBQ Chicken Quesadillas but when I came across a recipe for an amazing hot sauce we had to give it a try in our quesadillas. And let me tell you . . . were they a hit or what?! Give them a try I’m sure you’ll love ‘em! This dish is perfect for an appetizer at a party or a get together like the Super Bowl.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Frank's Hot Sauce
  • 1-½ cup Brown Sugar
  • ¼ cups Water
  • 2 Tablespoons Honey
  • 3 whole Chicken Breasts
  • 1 can Diced Green Chilis (4 Oz Can)
  • 2 whole Green Onions, diced
  • 2 cups Cheddar Cheese, Shredded
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 8 whole Burrito Sized Tortillas
  • Optional Dippers: Sour Cream, Salsa, Hot Sauce

Preparation

Mix the hot sauce, brown sugar, water, and honey together. Set aside.

Boil chicken breasts in a pot of water until fully cooked (about 25 minutes if frozen). When they are done, remove them from the water and shred chicken. Put shredded chicken in a bowl and pour 1/2 cup of the sauce over the chicken and stir well. Throw the diced chilies, and diced green onions into the chicken mixture.

Heat griddle or skillet to medium heat. Lightly spray one side of each tortilla (the side that will be touching the griddle) then place it in your skillet and layer 1/2 cup cheese onto tortilla then 1/2 cup of the chicken mixture. Top with another tortilla. Grill for 1-2 minutes on each side. Continue with the remaining filling and tortillas.

Serve with sour cream, salsa, or hot sauce for dipping.

This makes me feel like eating tortillas while reading. I didn’t know that I could make one with the use of flour and the not so costly ingredients. Thanks for sharing.

This was delightful! I didn’t have green onions so I sauteed some yellow ones in olive oil and a little minced garlic and threw them in the meat mixture. Excellent recipe!

This sauce is a keeper! I used 1 cup of sugar and it was just the right combo of sugar and spice.
