Combining 4 simple ingredients has definitely taken BBQ chicken to a whole new level!
Place chicken in a skillet on a medium-high heat grill. Without moving it, cook for 4-5 minutes. Flip over and baste cooked side with BBQ sauce. Cook another 4-5 minutes without moving the chicken. Depending on how thick your chicken breast is, you may or may not need to cook it a bit longer. Make sure it is cooked all the way through before serving. Flip it back over and baste with BBQ sauce. Let it sit 1 minute and then baste entire chicken one more time with BBQ sauce.
**Always make sure your are not basting raw chicken and then using the same sauce to baste your cooked chicken.
Top each breast with 2 slices of cooked bacon and a 1/2 cup cheese. Put the lid on your skillet and turn off your heat. Let them sit until cheese is melted about 2 minutes. Serve.

Yes, I grilled it, but during the winter months I bake the chicken and then top it with the bacon and cheese and broil it just for a minute or two.

ok, I know this sounds completely stupid – but did you cook this on a grill? This looks so good and I want to make it this week.
