These burgers were popular in the Depression days. With today’s economy, it’s always nice to find an affordable, simple supper to fill my family’s tummies! Delicious!
Brown meat with salt and pepper. Drain fat. Stir in flour. In a small saucepan, add soup and boil about 20 minutes to reduce liquid by half. Pour over hamburger and serve warm over whole wheat buns with your favorite cheese—provolone, havarti, gouda, Swiss, Velveeta, whatever floats your boat!
