Description

Get ready for some finger-licking fun! Shrimp, potatoes, sausage and corn boiled together with lots of spice. Finger food at its finest!

Ingredients

  • ¾ cups Old Bay Shellfish Seasoning
  • 3 pounds Small Red Potatoes, Scrubbed And Cleaned
  • 5 cloves Garlic, Peeled But Left Whole
  • 1 pound Smoked Sausage, Cut Into Chunks
  • 1 package Andouille Sausage, 12 Oz Package, Cut Into Chunks
  • 12 whole Half-Ears Of Corn (I Used Frozen)
  • 5 pounds Shell On Un-cooked Shrimp
  • 1 whole Lemon, Halved
  • 3 Tablespoons Red Pepper Flakes

Preparation

Fill a very large stock pot halfway full of water (I used two pots because I didn’t have one that was big enough). Bring to a boil and pour in Old Bay seasoning along with potatoes and garlic. Continue to boil for 15 minutes. Add sausages and boil for 5 minutes. Add corn and boil another 5 minutes. Finally add shrimp, lemon and red pepper. Boil another 5 minutes or until shrimp have turned pink. Drain and serve.

Serves 10-12.

This is a great recipe!
I add all kinds of heavy veggies to this, along with all kinds of seafood. Trimmed artichokes, broccoli, asparagus. Crab legs (get the butcher to score them, or score them yourself with sharp shears.) Clams and mussels. The most important thing is to get the seasoning of the boil right. Adding a few tablespoons of chicken bouillon, a couple bottles of good strong beer or a bottle of a good white wine added to the boil before adding the food brings great levels of flavor to this. If you want to add limes for good flavor and color, go for it! Sop it up with warm french bread, and melted butter for dipping! YUM!
Cook in the Turkey Fryer, when done, just pull the basket out, dump it on a table covered with lots of newspaper to soak up the water, a roll of paper towels. Don’t forget the “trash” bowl for the shells!
