Description

These are a must at our house while opening presents on Christmas Eve and then again after celebrating New Year’s Eve! Great to give away to your friends!

Ingredients

  • 1 block Velveeta Cheese, 2-pound, Grated
  • 2 cans Spam, Grated, 12 Ounce Cans
  • 1 whole White Onion, Grated On Box Grater
  • 1 cup Spreadable Margarine
  • 5 packages Store Brand White Hamburger Buns (8-count Packages)

Preparation

Grate Velveeta (put it in the freezer for about 15 minutes first to make it easier to grate), Spam and the onion into a large mixing bowl. Mix well (hands work best!).

Butter both sides of hamburger buns and then using a spoon, plop a mound of Spam mixture in the center (not too much, about 3-4 Tablespoons) and then top it with the top bun and press lightly. Wrap each sandwich in a piece of foil.

You can now put them in a 350 degree (F) oven for 20 minutes, or put the foil wrapped sandwiches back in the plastic bun bag and store in refrigerator for a few weeks or give away bags to your friends!

I believe that I have gotten 40 sandwiches (5 bags of 8 buns) per batch with the above ingredients list. You can easily halve the recipe also. Enjoy!!
