I made this for my beer-hating family and we all loved it! (just to tell anyone who might be scared off by the beer… it doesn’t taste like beer, it just adds a great complex flavor to the broth!)

This is a fantastic recipe! I only had light beer at home and it worked just fine. Will try again with a darker brew. The beef was very tender and easy to slice. I served it on toasted sub rolls with melted provolone cheese and horseradish mayo. Yummy!

This is my first food review and I felt this recipe required my response. Wow – was it good!! I was a little unsure of the beer (we don’t drink alcohol) but I got a bottle from a friend and I’m glad I tried it. I’ve never had broth give that kind of flavor! I also used toasted onion sub rolls and provolone and plenty of that wonderful au jus! My husband and I both really loved and my kids ate it too! Definitely a keeper!!!

I too have used this several times and it is always a huge hit with the family. It’s definitely one of my go-to recipes. Planning on making it again tomorrow so that I don’t have to use the oven. Thanks for the recipe!

My family and guests I had over loved this! They said it was like something they would get at a restaurant!
Will make this more!

This recipe holds its place at the top of our list. We not only love it but we invite people over just to make it for them! My toddler daughter can’t get enough. We have to cut her off at four toddler-sized portions at a sitting! We used a roast larger than called for, but it turned out great! I’ve enjoyed the leftovers on top of leftover Thanksgiving stuffing!

Ok Megan, did this recipe tonight and OMG was it good. As we speak my husband is into his second sandwich. How easy can it get?! Started it in my crock this morning, came home with some multi-grain rolls, toasted those, hit them with some mayo, add the meat and a slice of mozzarella cheese. Viola!

I have it in the slow cooker now and if it tastes half as good as it smells….oh boy!!!

Well it did taste as good as it smelled….yum!!!!
I used a can of French Onion Soup in place of the bouillon, consomme and soup mix. I had a toasted lager that I used too. I toasted up some steak rolls, caramelized some onions, and shredded some mozzarella cheese. Absolutely delish!!!

This was delicious. Easiest thing there is to assemble! I love the flavoring that the beer added. This recipe is definitely a keeper!

My husband usually isn’t one for pot roasts. This is one recipe he asked me to make again. It was really easy and very delicious! Making it for the second time tonight. Thanks!

This was so easy and so delicious!! I couldn’t wait for it to finish cooking my house smelled so good. For leftovers, I put the Au Jus in a bowl to cool in the fridge and I removed the fat the next day in one piece!!
I will most surely make this again and again!!

I doubled the recipe as we were having company. It was very easy to prepare with simple ingredients. The au jus was the best of all I have ever tried. Nice and salty just the way we like it. I used bottom blade pot roast and Keith’s India Pale Ale and it was perfect.
I also buttered my sandwich rolls with garlic butter, added some shredded mozza and broiled them for a couple minutes. I will be making this again!
Thanks for sharing!
