Super easy tomato pasta sauce. Delicious. Perfect as a simple sauce, as a base sauce or as a pizza sauce.
Crush the garlic slightly with the side of a knife and remove the skin. Place in a saucepan over a medium heat with the olive oil and cook until you can smell the garlic. Add the tomatoes.
Lower the heat and simmer for 20 minutes or so or until the oil and tomatoes have combined to create a sauce. Add the basil and some water if the sauce needs it and cook for a further minute. Remove from heat.
You can either purée the sauce, with or without the garlic cloves, or serve it chunky. Works well both ways.
Serve over pasta with another drizzle of olive oil.
