Description

This is one fantastic sandwich, and great for parties. Feel free to use the deli meats of your choice!

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (11 Oz. Each) Refrigerated Crusty French Bread Dough
  • 2 teaspoons Olive Oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic, Pressed
  • ½ teaspoons Dried Italian Seasoning
  • ⅓ cups Italian Salad Dressing (regular, Reduced Fat Or Fat-free)
  • ⅓ pounds Thinly Sliced Deli Turkey
  • ⅓ pounds Thinly Sliced Deli Roast Beef
  • ⅓ pounds Thinly Sliced Deli Ham
  • ¼ pounds Sliced Processed American, Swiss Or Provolone Cheese, Halved
  • 2 cups Shredded Lettuce
  • 1 whole Medium Red Onion, Thinly Sliced
  • 1 whole Medium Green Bell Pepper, Thinly Sliced
  • 1 whole Medium Tomato, Thinly Sliced

Preparation

Place both loaves of dough seam side down on a greased 14″ pizza pan, forming one large ring. Then pinch the ends together to seal. With a sharp knife, make eight 1/2″ deep slashes across the top of the dough. Set aside.

Mix garlic into the olive oil. Brush the mixture on the top of the bread and sprinkle with Italian seasoning. Bake at 350 F for 25-30 minutes or until golden. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pan to a wire rack to cool completely.

To assemble, cut bread in half horizontally. Brush the cut sides with salad dressing. Layer the bottom half with turkey, roast beef, ham, cheese, lettuce, onion, green pepper and tomato. Then replace the top half of the bread. Serve immediately.

Wrap leftovers tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate. Yields 8-10 servings.

Note: To kick up the sandwich, after brushing the cut sides of the bread with Italian dressing, add your favorite mustard (we LOVE jalapeno mustard!) to one cut side of the bread and mayonnaise and Miracle Whip on the other cut side.
