Description

This is a simple but delicious sauce that we have quite often at home, mostly with pasta. Oh! This is my first recipe here and as I read it, there is a lot of stirring.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 whole Large Onion, Chopped
  • 6 ounces, fluid Or A Small Glass Of Dry White Wine
  • 4 whole Ripe Tomatoes (cut Into Small Chunks)
  • ½ teaspoons Sugar
  • Sea Salt
  • Freshly Ground Pepper
  • Some Fresh Parsley Chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons To 3 Tablespoons Cream (optional)
  • Pasta, To Serve
  • 1-½ pound Large Prawns Boiled In Salted Water For About 5 Minutes

Preparation

Heat the butter with the oil in a pan.

Add the onion and cook at medium heat.

When almost cooked (no more than 3-5 minutes), add the wine and stir for a couple of minutes.

Add the tomatoes, sugar, salt and pepper and stir. Let it simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring every now and then. If needed, add some water.

After the 20 minutes have passed, add the prawns and stir gently for 2-3 minutes.

Finally add the chopped parsley and the cream. Stir one last time.

Serve on top of pasta or mixed with pasta!
