Description

Light, healthy tilapia gets a kick of flavor with panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese and Italian herbs.

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Panko Breadcrumbs
  • ½ cups Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Italian Seasoning
  • ½ teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • 2 Tablespoons Light Mayonnaise
  • 4 pieces Tilapia

Preparation

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a baking pan with non-stick spray.

Mix together the panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, Italian herbs and garlic powder in a shallow dish and set aside.

Pat the fish fillets dry with a paper towel and spread about a half tablespoon of the mayonnaise all over each fillet. You should have a very light coating on the fish – you may not need all of the mayo depending on the size of you fillets.

After you coat the fish, press each fillet in the panko/Parmesan mixture, turning over to get the entire fillet coated.

Put the fillet on the baking pan and lightly spray the tops with the cooking spray or drizzle with olive oil. Bake in the oven for 12-14 minutes, turning halfway through baking, until the fish is lightly browned on top and around the edges.

Made this last week and my husband and I really enjoyed it! Delicious flavor and we’re not even big mayo fans! But it was a wonderful dish and one I’ll definitely make again!

I had never made tilapia before; this was delicious and the whole family liked it. Some other recipes would have you fry it then bake it….this was much easier!!

My husband and I both loved this fish – SO EASY to make, and very tasty. I happened to have Italian flavored panko crumbs in my pantry, which even eliminated an ingredient. I will definitely be putting this in the rotation. Thanks for sharing!

This was very good! Both of my picky little boys ate it up, which is a miracle in itself! I added shaved parm on top at the end of the baking which just topped it off! Will definately make again!

This dish was both easy to make and delish! I made it for dinner when my Aunt and Uncle were over and it was a crowd pleaser!!! I followed the recipe and didn’t change anything. Its lightly cheesy, creamy, and has a great texture from the panko. If you like tilapia you will LOVE this recipe!!!
