Description

This is a good anything sauce. Spaghetti, lasagna, meatball subs, mozzarella sticks! Anything!

Ingredients

  • 3 Tablespoons Butter
  • 2 whole White Onions, Diced
  • 2 whole Green Pepper, Diced
  • 5 cloves Minced Garlic
  • 3 cans (14 Oz. Size) Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 can (14 Oz. Size) Fire Roasted, Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 can (14 Oz. Size) Petite Diced Tomatoes
  • 8 ounces, weight Tomato Paste
  • 10 whole Cherry Tomatoes, Cut Into Quarters
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Basil
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper

Preparation

1. Melt butter in a large skillet and saute onion, green pepper, and garlic until onion is translucent.
2. In a food processor or blender puree 2 cans of the diced tomatoes.
3. In a crock pot put all tomato ingredients, onion mixture, and seasonings.
4. Cook on High for 4 hours, stirring about every hour.
5. After 4 hours of cooking taste sauce and add more salt and garlic powder to your liking.
6. Lower the temp to Low and cook for at least 4 more hours more. The longer the better here, people.
7. If adding cooked meatballs or ground beef to this, add it about 2 hours before you want to serve, bringing the heat back to High, so the sauce has time to heat back to a low boil.

What is “fluid Tomato Paste”?

The only kind of tomato paste I’ve ever seen is fairly solid.

TIA
