Description

In Ohio, Mr. Hero’s Roman Burger is a very popular italian sub that is a glorified cheeseburger. It’s so good, along with their wafer fries with cheddar sauce that is not kind to your waistline. But sometimes, you gotta give! Salami and cheese are cooked on top of a burger that gives a unique taste that no other burger can! Great for tailgaters, parties, anytime. You can make these larger or smaller! So easy to make!

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Italian Submarine (6 Inch)
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 1 Tablespoon Mayonnaise
  • ¼ cups Shredded Lettuce
  • 2 slices Tomato
  • 3 slices White Onion
  • 1 Tablespoon Zesty Italian Dressing
  • ¼ pounds Hamburger Patties (2 Patties)
  • 2 slices Provolone Cheese
  • 2 slices Hard Salami

Preparation

1. Split hoagie sub, spread butter on one side of the sub and place on the grill for toasting.
2. After toasting, remove.
3. Spread mayo on both sides of the sub.
4. On the bottom part of the sub, layer lettuce, tomato and onion.
5. Drizzle Italian dressing on both sides and set the hoagie aside.
6. Grill burgers for 3-4 minutes each and add provolone slices on each burger before removing from the grill. Place on the hoagie.
7. Place salami on the grill and grill for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, flipping on both sides to cook evenly.
8. Place salami on top of cheeseburgers.
9. Assemble the sandwich and press together to get the flavors together!
10. Cut in half and serve.
