Description

These little things are delightful, easy to make, and unforgettable! I tend to crave them on a regular basis.

Ingredients

  • 12 whole King's Hawaiian Bread Rolls
  • ½ pounds Smoked Turkey, Sliced Thin
  • ½ pounds Honey Or Brown Sugar Ham, Sliced Thin
  • ½ pounds Hot Pepper Cheese, Or Pepper Jack, Sandwich Sliced
  • 1 whole Purple Onion, Slivered Or Sliced Really Thin
  • 4 Tablespoons Butter, Melted
  • 1 clove Garlic, Minced

Preparation

Preheat oven to 325F. Line a cookie sheet with foil.

Remove Hawaiian Bread Rolls from the package and slice them in half through the middle, so you have a top and bottom. Place the bottom half of your bread on the foil-lined cookie sheet. Do a couple of layers of each meat, and then top with cheese. Place a couple of slivers of purple onion on the cheese. Place the top half of bread to complete the sandwiches.

NOW here’s the most important part: melt your butter in a small pan, throw in the garlic and let it simmer a minute. Then you want to brush the tops of your sandwiches with this garlic butter, and put them in the oven. I usually do around 10 minutes to make sure they’re good and hot. But really, all you want is a slightly crispy top, and melted cheese. When you take them out of the oven, flatten them down a bit with a spatula. These are best served warm!

Enjoy!
