Description

This ham is great for holidays or anytime for dinner. The best part is that it doesn’t use the oven, so you still have room to make all of your side dishes to go with it!

Ingredients

  • 7 pounds Spiral Cut Ham
  • 1 cup Dark Brown Sugar
  • 2 cups Pineapple Juice
  • ½ cups Real Maple Syrup

Preparation

Use a 6-7 quart slow cooker. Unwrap the ham and discard the flavor packet. Place the ham into the slow cooker stoneware, flat-side down. Rub brown sugar on all sides. Mix pineapple juice and maple syrup in a bowl and pour over the ham. Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours. An hour before serving, baste the ham with the collected juices from the bottom of the slow cooker. When cooking is done, remove carefully and let it rest on a cutting board for 10 minutes before carving. My ham was so tender, we didn’t have to carve it; it fell into perfect pieces on the platter.

Thank you for sharing this recipe! I cook for a very large crowd each Friday night (about 40 or so) and when ham was requested I was looking for a fuss free way to prepare it. This fit the bill. I put two 10 hams in the roaster and went about my day. The ham was moist and sweet without being overly sweet and I got lots of compliments. Yummy, yummy ham!

My husband and I don’t usually like spiral hams but with this recipe, it was moist, tender, and delicious!

I also used a non-spiral cut ham. My husband and family loved it! It was very moist and tender with wonderful flavor. My husband is a big turkey fan, but he thought this ham was better then our Christmas turkey. Will definitely make this again.

This is my new “go-to” way to prepare ham. No more dry ham with this gem of a recipe. Thanks!

I made this using a non-spiral cut ham (because that’s what I had.) It was fabulous – my family raved. The cooking juices made a fabulous base for raisin sauce too.

This Easter was the first holiday that I cooked for a group of friends. I only have one oven, so when I found this recipe for cooking a ham in a slow-cooker, I was instantly drawn. During the meal, all I kept hearing around the room was, “this ham is amazing!”, and it definitely was. And so easy. Thank you!
