Description

Slow cooker hard apple cider pulled BBQ chicken sandwiches with almond apple slaw. Perfect for tailgating. Delicious!

Ingredients

  • FOR THE SANDWICHES:
  • 1 bottle (17 Oz. Size) KC Masterpiece Bourbon BBQ Sauce
  • 1 bottle (12 Oz. Size) Hard Apple Cider
  • 4 whole Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
  • 6 whole Hamburger Buns
  • FOR THE SLAW:
  • 14 ounces, weight Coleslaw Mix
  • 2 whole Apples, Diced
  • ¼ cups Slivered Almonds
  • 1 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 2 Tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon Honey
  • ¼ cups Diced Onion
  • ½ Tablespoons Garlic
  • ½ Tablespoons Herb Seasoning Salt

Preparation

In a large crockpot, pour BBQ sauce and cider over chicken breasts and cook on high for 4 hours (or on medium for 6 hours). When done, shred chicken using two forks. You can continue warming the chicken on low or medium until you’re ready to eat.

In a medium bowl, combine slaw mix, apples, almonds, yogurt, honey, onion, and spices. Stir until all of the ingredients are well combined. Refrigerate until ready to use.

To serve, top chicken with slaw and serve on a hamburger bun.
