A new spin on a old Polish recipe. Filling enough for a manly man, but also a crowd pleaser (under the disguising name of that only a four-year-old sassy girl could appreciate—Bibbity Boppity Haluski).
1. Bring water to a rolling boil for noodles.
2. In a separate skillet, melt butter over medium to medium-high heat. Add garlic, salt, pepper, and shredded cabbage. Stir to combine and heat until cabbage is tender, approximately 10-15 minutes.
3. Prepare pasta as instructed on the package. Toss sliced kielbasa into the cabbage mixture and fry until heated through, and edges of kielbasa begin to crisp.
4. Toss cooked, drained noodles and cabbage mixture until combined well.
5. De-glaze skillet with pepper brine, and bring brine to a boil, approximately 2 minutes. Toss over noodles until coated.

Pepper brine is the liquid that the jarred mild peppers come in. You just use the liquid and omit the actual peppers.

I agree with beckiskitchen – what is pepper brine? I’d love to make this sometime this week since I have cabbage I want to use up.

We have eaten this for years – as my grandmother was Polish. It is SO good; I probably make it once a month. The only difference is we fry sweet onions first then mix in the cabbage and sausage.
