Description

A delicious alternative to the boxed stuff . . . And far better tasting.

Ingredients

  • ½ pounds Ground Beef
  • ½ cups Chopped Onion
  • 1 clove Garlic, Minced
  • 4 cups Tomato Juice
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • ¼ teaspoons Black Pepper
  • ¼ teaspoons Dried Basil
  • ¼ teaspoons Dried Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Parsley
  • 6 ounces, weight Dry Macaroni
  • ½ cups Grated Cheese

Preparation

Brown the beef and onion in a large saucepan. Add the garlic at the last minute. When beef is browned, pour in the tomato juice and all the spices. Bring to a boil. Drop in the pasta and cook, uncovered, until pasta is al dente (for the amount of time specified on the package). Remove from heat and stir in the cheese. Serve immediately.

Made this and it was great and sooo easy! I following the recipe exactly only I used a low carb noodle which was great. My family loved it. Will make again will never use the package stuff again.

This is a really good and easy recipe! Next time I might use low sodium tomato juice. My husband thought it was almost too salty. I may also use 3 cups of tomato juice and 1 cup of chicken broth to ease up on the “tomatoeyness” a little bit. I should add that I used store bought tomato juice. I think it would of been better if I had some home made tomato juice to use. All in all a good recipe that I will make again, even if I do decide to “tweak” it a little.
