Description

Have a crowd to feed? This recipe for Sloppy Joes can be made ahead and put in the crock pot to be ready when you need it. Teenage boys have been known to go back for thirds.

Ingredients

  • 6 pounds Ground Beef, Turkey, Chicken, Or Pork
  • 1 whole Onion, Diced
  • 4 stalks Celery Finely Chopped
  • 2 cans (15 Oz. Size) Tomato Sauce
  • 2 cans (10.5 Oz. Size) Tomato Soup
  • ½ cups Brown Sugar
  • ¼ cups Ketchup
  • ¼ cups Barbeque Sauce
  • 3 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Dry Mustard
  • 1 Tablespoon Prepared Mustard
  • 1-½ teaspoon Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder

Preparation

1. Brown meat in skillet.
2. Put browned meat (drained of fat) in the crock pot and add all remaining ingredients.
3. Stir together and cook for at least 4 hours on low.
4. Extras freeze great!

This looks like a great way to use good deals on ground beef at a warehouse club. Especially since it freezes well. Can’t wait to try it out. Thanks for sharing!
