Description

A simple creamy pasta dish. Perfect as a main dish or side.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Onion, Diced
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Minced Garlic
  • 1-½ cup Diced Tomatoes Fresh (canned Would Work But Make Sure To Drain Them)
  • 1 jar (24 Oz. Size) Pasta Sauce
  • 1 cup Ricotta Cheese
  • Salt, Pepper, And Italian Seasonings To Taste
  • 8 ounces, weight Pasta (I Used Rotini), Cooked According To Package Instructions For Al Dente, Then Drained
  • 2 Tablespoons Minced Fresh Basil
  • 1 cup Shredded Italian Cheese

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350ºF.

In a pot over medium heat, saute diced onion in the olive oil. Once onion starts becoming translucent, add minced garlic and cook for another minute. Next add diced tomatoes and continue to sauté for just a few minutes.

Once the tomatoes start to soften, add pasta sauce and ricotta cheese. Stir to make sure it is all incorporated together; I taste and season at this point. After sauce is completely incorporated, add cooked and drained pasta and minced basil.

Pour into a greased 2-quart baking dish and top with shredded cheese. Bake at 350ºF until it is bubbly and the cheese is melted, around 10–20 minutes.

This sounds great! But we need your help with a couple things before posting:

– Would you go into the ingredients list and for all the packaged items (sauce and pasta) please add in the specific size (in ounces, package count or whatever applies) of the package? After you modify and save each line, please drag it into the right place in the list (in order of mention in the instructions). And if you’ll enter the line as follows, this will ensure that folks get the right amounts of the packaged items when/if they use our system to multiply the recipe: 2 – cans – (10 Oz. Size) Cream of Chicken Soup … We’ve got a lot of members overseas, in places where packaging varies. So if you’ll make sure to include package sizes on all recipe submittals it would be really helpful.

– Also, do you use canned or fresh tomatoes, or does it matter? If it does, would you add this note into that ingredient line?

– And would you add a note into the instructions where I added the ?? note to specify the size (dimensions or capacity) of the baking dish?

When done making the changes, just click ‘make recipe visible’ and ‘save’ and we’ll get this posted!
Thanks,
TKNanci
