I made this tonight. I used cream of mushroom soup instead of celery. It was very rich and creamy. My husband usually doesn’t like pork, but he really enjoyed this dish. I also did not cook it as long as was required and put the cheese on top during the last 25 minutes.

This was really good and I agree its a great recipe to build on. I added garlic salt also but I didn’t put the cheese on until the last 30 minutes or so. It was even better the next day for leftovers.

This is a great basic recipe to build on; very easy to adjust to individual tastes. The only modification I made was to use garlic salt instead of standard table salt. It was very simple to put together. It was hot and hearty, just the thing for a well below freezing winter evening. I think I will add additional veggies next time I make this something like corn, green beans or mushrooms.

I cooked this for my parents with one variation, I add chopped mushrooms to the sauce! They loved it!!!

I’m surprisingly happy about how this recipe turned out. I thought it was going to be ok. But it was really good, easy and liked by all. I had 4 pork chops and used an 8 x 8 pan. Having said that, I only used 1 1/2 potatoes and it cooked for 50 minutes not 1 1/2 hours. Thanks for submitting!
