Description

This is a simple recipe for creating the popular Korean barbecue dish, Bul Kogi, right in your own kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 3 whole Green Onions, Chopped
  • 4 whole Garlic Cloves, Minced
  • 5 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Sesame Oil
  • ¼ cups Sugar
  • ⅛ teaspoons Pepper
  • 1-½ Tablespoon Sesame Seeds
  • 1 pound Thinly Sliced Sirloin
  • 2 cups Steamed White Rice
  • 1 whole Head Green Leaf Lettuce

Preparation

Combine the green onions, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, pepper and sesame seeds and mix well. Pour over sliced sirloin and let marinate overnight. Cook the meat in a hot skillet or wok over medium-high heat until brown. You can also cook the meat over a hot grill.

Wrap a couple pieces of the barbecue with a couple spoonfuls of rice in a piece of the lettuce and eat like a wrap.

We love Korean barbecue, and this recipe is just perfect. It’s our staple at-home Korean bbq recipe now. I love that we can have one of our favorite dishes so easily and deliciously… this recipe nails it on the head.
