I have made a lot of turkey burgers in my life. My husband doesn’t like ground beef (?!), so I gotta improvise! These are SO flavorful and healthy. I usually make a double batch and freeze the uncooked patties on a cookie sheet, then transfer to a freezer bag for easy weeknight dinners. This one ALWAYS goes over well.
First, saute the onion in the olive oil until soft. You don’t HAVE to do this, but I get complaints in my house if there is a hint of crunchy onion anywhere.
Transfer the onions to a large mixing bowl. Add all of the other ingredients except the turkey and mix well.
Add the turkey and blend until it is just mixed together. Try not to over blend.
Form into patties—large or small, the choice is yours. I cook them in a cast iron pan over medium-low heat until the bottom has a crust on it. Flip, and cook the other side until done. You don’t want to undercook poultry.
Serve and enjoy!
