Description

This recipe is an old favorite at our house. It is one I forget all about in my frenzy to always be trying something new and different and then I make it and it is like visiting an old friend. It is such an uncomplicated easy recipe that makes a huge pan and the leftovers just get better and better. Make, eat and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Lean Ground Beef
  • 1 whole Green Pepper, Chopped Into Chunks
  • 1 cup Mushrooms, Sliced
  • 2 jars (24 Oz. Size) Your Favorite Spaghetti Sauce
  • 1 package (16 Oz. Size) Spaghetti, Cooked, Rinsed And Drained
  • ¾ cups Pepperoni Slices
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheese (I Like Colby/jack)

Preparation

Brown ground beef, greens peppers and mushrooms in a pan. If there is any grease after you are finished browning, drain. Combine the sauce with the browned beef mixture. Let that simmer for a few minutes while you cook the spaghetti. When the noodles are done, mix the spaghetti and the meat sauce mixture together.

Place half of the spaghetti/meat sauce mixture in the bottom of a 9 x 13 casserole dish. Lay out half of the pepperoni slices and top with half of the shredded cheese. Place the remaining spaghetti/meat sauce mixture on top of this layer and repeat the pepperoni layer and then the remaining cheese. Bake in a 350ºF oven for 25 to 30 minutes. You want the cheese to melt and start to become golden brown. Take it out of the oven and let it sit for at least 5 minutes to make serving easier.

We loved this dish! We used ground turkey and added a white onion, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, celery salt, and S&P.

This is so good and SO easy. I actually prefer it to regular spaghetti. I use Bertolli Tomato and Basil sauce. A great, inexpensive recipe to feed a crowd.

Just whipped this up for dinner and it is yummy!!! I changed it up a little with sliced zucchini (my garden is overflowing I need ways to use’em up!!!) and no pepperoni (I didn’t have any on hand!). My 2 year old is asking for 2nds as I type this!!! ;~)

This was really good! I added 1/4 cup of spicy spaghetti seasoning, I’m afraid it wouldn’t have had enough seasoning without it. Other that that I followed the recipe exactly & the family loved it!

My family loved this! When I made it last week, I omited the mushrooms and used a red bell pepper. I’m making it again tonight!
