Awesome recipe! I just knew my guys would enjoy anything with bacon in it. This was a HUGE hit at our house. I will make this again & again.

I made this for dinner today. Everyone loved it! I served it with a tossed salad and Garlic Cheese Quick Bread, there wasn’t a crumb leftover.

I made this tonight… and it was a HUGE hit! I only had one pkg (16oz) of bacon, three 14.5oz cans of diced tomatoes and dried basil leaves on hand. I don’t think those factors made any difference. It was so delicious – all 4 of my picky kids and my hubby ate it! There were no leftovers, unfortunately… Will definately be making this again! Thanks for a great recipe!

Very, very, VERY yummy!! There are three adults and one toddler at our dinner table, so I made 1/4 of this recipe. And, I only had frozen diced white onions on hand, and jarred diced garlic. Didn’t matter! Because the amounts were less, I sauteed it for only ten minutes while the pasta cooked. Oh, and I used regular spaghetti, too! Hey, we work with what we have.
This was SOOOO good. My husband has begged me to put it on “regular rotation”!

Used zucchini noodles and fresh tomatoes, and this was absolutely out of this world.
We’ll be making this many times, will be an excellent side to a nice juicy steak.

This dish was delicious! I made it for dinner and after reading the reviews, invited my in-laws over as well. We all loved it. It reminds me very much of an angel hair dish at my favorite restaurant. It’s nice to know I can now enjoy that at home.

I made this Friday night for dinner. I looked at the blog and saw this and just knew I had to try it. Boy, am I glad I did! My dh loved it as much as I did! I didn’t have any fresh basil so I used dried but I can’t imagine anything making it any better than it was! and it was pure heaven (and torture) waiting for dh to get home!! Thanks so much for the recipe, this one will go on a regular rotation!!

I could not in good conscience use ALL that bacon grease, so I used about half (maybe a little more) and it was really delicious anyhow!

This was absolutely delicious! I made it just as the recipe stated for four people and had quite a bit of leftovers. The leftovers were even better the next day.

This was absolutely the best pasta dish I’ve eaten. I will make this again. I made a 1/2 recipe and sprinkled in some red pepper flakes to add a little heat. It was wonderful. I can’t say anything negative about it! The leftovers were as good – or better – for lunch the next day. Thank you for making this recipe available to us.

Hi. Making it right now! Can I freeze extra sauce?
ecourtney on 8.21.2010
is this take 2- 16oz. packages of bacon or just 16oz. total? Sorry, I am confused. Thanks.
PlanoSheila on 8.22.2010
Junecarter, I have never had any left over. You really want to mix all the sauce into all the noodles to get it the way it’s supposed to be. I guess if you wanted to freeze the whole thing you could but I’ve never done it so I can’t make any promises on the results.
PlanoSheila on 8.22.2010
ecourtney, it’s 2 lbs (32oz total) of bacon.

I’m making this for my folks this week, and I can’t wait! You need to steal the image from MissAmy to upload here

OHMIGOSH this was amazing!! A huge hit for our special dinner, and requested to become a regular dish in our home! Thanks for sharing!! 5 mitts!

“When you start getting high from the smell in your kitchen, pour in the bowl of tomatoes and basil.”
What if you’re already a little high from a preprandial martini?
Seriously, this is a fabulous recipe. We’re thinking of doing this for our family Christmas Eve dinner instead of our traditional marinated tenderloin. I made this tonight and it was absolutely delicious. It goes very well with a nice sangiovese. Five mitts for sure!
