Description

Authentic Texas chili made easy in a crockpot!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Beef Stew Meat
  • 1 can (15 Oz. Size) Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 Oz. Size) Pinto Beans
  • 1 can (15 Oz. Size) Tomato Paste
  • 1-½ Tablespoon Chili Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Paprika
  • ½ Tablespoons Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Coffee Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Cayenne Pepper
  • ½ teaspoons Black Pepper
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • Splash Of Water Or Stock

Preparation

Combine all ingredients in a crockpot and stir well to combine. Cook on low for 7-8 hours, or high for 4-5 (although I highly recommend the low version).

Serve with your favorite chili toppings!

While I only lived in Texas (Dallas) five years, I was told in strong language by several senior Texans toting guns that I was never to use beans in anything labeled Texas chili. At 74 I am way too cantankerous to go through the upheaval of a switch to beans, but the recipe otherwise sounds good. Thanks
