Description

Easy, simple, delicious!

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Softened Butter
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • ¼ teaspoons Baking Powder
  • ⅛ teaspoons Baking Soda
  • 1-½ cup All-purpose Flour

Preparation

In a large bowl, whip butter with sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in egg and vanilla. Scrape sides and mix again. Stir in dry ingredients until completely combined.

Divide dough into two equal logs {about 1-1 1/2 inches wide} and roll in plastic wrap. Refrigerate about an hour {or longer-you basically want the dough to have hardened}.

When you are ready to bake the cookies, preheat oven to 350ºF. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, or lightly grease with nonstick cooking spray and set aside. Unwrap logs of cookie dough and slice into 1/2 inch discs.

Place on prepared baking sheet (12 on each) and bake 9–10 minutes or until bottoms are barely brown.

Remove from the oven, cool 3 minutes and remove to a cooling rack. Once cooled completely, store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

Great recipe! Easy to make ahead and bake when ready. My family ate them without hesitation :).

These cookies are total perfection! I didn’t feel like waiting for them to chill in the fridge, so I rolled them into balls, flattened them, then sprinkled them with some extra sugar. This is now my go-to sugar cookie recipe!

These are delicious and simple. My oven required about five more minutes than the recipe said, but that was probably just normal variation from oven to oven. The dough is also delicious by itself. :)
