Description

A sweet glazed Brussels sprout recipe that even kids will love.

Ingredients

  • 10 whole Brussels Sprouts
  • 2 teaspoons Sesame Oil
  • ¼ cups Water Plus 1/8 Cup For The Glaze
  • ⅛ cups Apple Juice
  • 1 teaspoon Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Brown Rice Syrup

Preparation

Cut the washed Brussels sprouts into halves or quarters, depending on their size. Heat sesame oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add the cut-up Brussels sprouts and sauté for 2 to 3 minutes. Add 1/4 cup water. Cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 3 to 5 minutes.

Mix the glaze ingredients (apple juice, remaining 1/8 cup water, soy sauce, brown rice syrup) in a measuring cup or small bowl and whisk together. Remove the skillet cover, add the glaze, and cook for 3 more minutes. Serve warm.

Those are beautiful! I usually roast brussels sprouts, but this glaze sounds delicious.

first attempt at brussels sprouts. didn’t have apple juice, so i used rum. also used agave nectar instead of the rice syrup.
