Description

My family’s favorite homemade buttermilk ranch dressing! For best results make this dressing a full day in advance.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cups (Real) Mayonnaise
  • ½ cups Sour Cream
  • ½ cups Buttermilk, Shaken, Or More If Desired
  • 1 clove Garlic, Smashed, Peeled And Minced
  • 2 Tablespoons Snipped Fresh Chives
  • 1 Tablespoon Fresh Dill, Finely Chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons Fresh Parsley, Finely Chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano, Crushed In Palm
  • ¼ teaspoons Dried Marjoram
  • ½ teaspoons Paprika
  • 1 whole Pinch Of Cayenne Pepper
  • ¾ teaspoons Kosher Salt, More Or Less To Taste
  • ¼ teaspoons Freshly Ground Black Pepper, More Or Less To Taste

Preparation

In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic and buttermilk until smooth. Add in the fresh herbs, spices, salt and pepper. Stir, cover and refrigerate for 2 hours at the least, but overnight is best.

I really liked this and will make it again but it wasn’t totally Ranch. You could taste the Ranch a bit at the end but it’s a complex flavour blend to achieve.
