My little guy named this and what an apt description! Slow cooked roast braised in root beer and beef stock. So good on a bun as a sandwich or with mashed potatoes, rice or noodles.
Start by placing the sliced onions on the bottom of the crock pot. Add the crushed red pepper flakes. Season the roast liberally with season salt, lemon pepper and black pepper. Watch the amount of salt you use if you are using store-bought stock, you don’t want it too salty. Place the roast on top of the onions in the crock pot and pour in the stock and root beer. Add in the bay leaf. Cover and cook on high for 9 to 10 hours. When done cooking, remove the bay leaf and shred the beef. This shouldn’t be hard since the beef pretty much falls apart as soon as it is touched.
Note: I prefer a sirloin tip roast because it has very little fat but a ton of flavor. You can use whatever cut of roast you prefer, I just can’t stand a lot of fat!
