This is a easy sauce that can be used with spaghetti, baked pasta or I also use it in my lasagna. Fresh mushrooms or zucchini can also be added. I came up with this recipe years ago when my kids were little and they did not like jar pasta sauce. They are all grown now and still ask for it when they come home.
Chop onion and place in large sauce pan with garlic, ground beef and Italian sausage. Cook until meat is browned; drain fat. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 1 hour.
Serve over pasta, in lasagna or bake with pasta noodles and cover with mozzarella.
*The pizza seasoning I use is Private Selection Pizza Seasoning Grinder found at Kroger’s. It consists of a mixture of garlic, onion, red bell pepper, rosemary and fennel.
