I came up with this idea one day when my husband wanted some hamburgers but we didn’t have enough ground beef to make them, so I improvised and came up with this. They consist of a balanced mixture of ground beef, pork sausage, and ground venison. The spicy chipotle mayonnaise adds just the right amount of kick to them.
Mix the first five ingredients together thoroughly in a large bowl.
Shape the hamburger mixture into 1/2 to 3/4″ thick patties.
Grill the burgers to an internal temperature of 155 degrees Fahrenheit. This takes about 10 – 15 mins depending on your grill. Always, make sure that the burgers are cooked until all the juices run clear.
Next, in a small bowl mix the mayonnaise and chipotle sauce together.
Serve on grilled hamburger buns or ciabatta rolls with chipotle mayonnaise.
Additional toppings:
Goat cheese or pepper jack cheese
spinach leaves
avocados and/or cucumber slices
