Tex-Mex Burgers topped with a fresh, mildly spicy green chili salsa. The perfect summer burger.
1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. To make the burgers combine ground beef, taco seasoning, salt, pepper and cayenne in a large bowl. Use your fingers to combine all ingredients together. Shape meat mixture into 3 patties. Place patties on the prepared grill and grill for about 5 minutes on the first side. Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes or until cooked to your liking. Add cheese during the last 2 minutes of cooking. To retain juice and get a nice sear, only flip the burgers once and do not squish or pat them down with your spatula.
2. Meanwhile, prepare the green chili salsa. In a small bowl, combine chilies, lime juice tomato, cilantro, tomato and sweet onion. Season generously with salt and pepper and mix everything together.
3. To serve, place finished burgers on the buns and top with a few spoonfuls of green chili salsa.
