The best of both worlds has just collided – burgers and tacos! This mildly spicy burger is nestled on a toasted bun, and topped with traditional taco toppings.
In a bowl, combine beef, onion, jalapenos, egg, garlic, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Form into 6 patties.
Heat a skillet or griddle pan over medium heat. Spray with nonstick spray. Cook patties 5-6 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired level of doneness. At the end, top each patty with a slice of cheese, until melted.
Remove meat from pan and let it rest on a plate.
Meanwhile toast buns face down on the heated skillet or griddle. (This prevents them from getting soggy when you add your toppings.)
Once bread is toasted, spread sour cream on bottom half of bun. Layer the bun with a patty, lettuce, salsa, and bun top.
Tip: Adding 2 Tablespoons of the chopped jalapenos will give the burger a mild spice. Feel free to add more, for a spicier burger.
