Description

Sweet and Spicy Meatballs make a great meal or tasty appetizer!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Turkey
  • 1 whole Egg
  • ¾ cups Plain Breadcrumbs
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • ¼ teaspoons Pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 1 jar (8 3/4 Oz. Size) Dickinson's Sweet N' Hot Pepper & Onion Relish (or Any Sweet And Spicy Jam, Preserve Or Relish)
  • 1 cup Low Sodium Chicken Broth

Preparation

In a medium-sized bowl, add the ground turkey, egg, breadcrumbs, salt and pepper. Mix well.

Form into meatballs. For a main dish meal, make medium-sized meatballs; for an appetizer, make small meatballs.

In a medium-sized saucepan over medium-high heat, add the oil and fry half the meatballs approximately 1 minute per side. The meatballs will not be fully cooked. Remove from heat and fry the remaining meatballs. Remove from saucepan and reserve.

To the saucepan, add the relish and chicken broth and stir to combine. Return the meatballs to the saucepan. Reduce the heat to low and simmer 30 minutes.

Serve as a main dish with rice (optional) or as an appetizer (accompanied with toothpicks).
