This is a great dinner or appetizer option. I use Trader Joe’s already made pizza dough and this recipe comes together in a flash! Enjoy!
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
In a skillet over medium heat saute the peppers, onion and garlic for about 4 minutes. Remove veggies from pan.
Next, brown the sausage in the skillet over medium heat until no pink shows; drain grease. Set sausage aside for assembly.
Lay pizza dough flat on your counter (or on a cookie sheet if you are not using a pizza peel). Distribute pepperoni slices and sausage over one half/side of the dough (you’re eventually going to fold the other half of the dough over to create the stromboli). Add the veggies. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Fold dough over and pinch ends and sides together. Cut slits in the top of the stromboli and brush melted butter on it. Sprinkle with pizza seasoning. Place the corn meal on your pizza peel to allow the stromboli to come off easily. If you are not using a pizza peel and pizza stone, sprinkle corn meal onto your baking sheet directly below where you will place the stromboli.
Cook in a preheated oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Slice into individual sections to serve with warm pizza or marinara sauce.
**The cornmeal is completely optional in this recipe. Although, I do like the texture and crunch it adds it is not a “recipe breaker” to not have it.**

This is a great template to use to make whatever kind of stromboli you’d like! My kids like pepperoni and mushroom with cheese!
