My mother-in-law has been making these for years. When you go to visit you can always count on them being in her fridge or freezer. Easy to put together and so yummy!!!! She makes hers with mozzarella but I prefer provolone, either way you can’t beat them.
Brown ground beef and onions in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once the meat is browned, drain off any fat and add rest of the ingredients except cheese slices. Simmer for 15 minutes. Then remove from heat and let meat sauce cool.
Spoon meat mixture onto bottom half of 4-6 sandwich buns, top with slice of cheese and replace top of bun.
Wrap each sandwich in foil. Store in fridge or freezer. Bake foil wrapped sandwiches in a 350 degree (F) oven for 15-20 minutes or until heated through and cheese is melted.
If kept in freezer there is no need to thaw, simply pop them in the oven and bake.

Mmm! These sound good. It is great to have make ahead freezer items since this time of year is so busy and there are always guests to feed.
