Wonderful! Mine was a little salty, but I’m sure that’s because I didn’t actually measure the salt and just eyeballed it – next time I’ll be more precise Other than that one little ‘user error,’ it was a great recipe! I froze a lot of the leftover meat to use later, which is always a plus

This was very flavorful. I didn’t have Hawaiian sea salt so I used pink himalayan salt – not sure the difference, but the result was really good! My entire family said they’d want it again.

Very good, reminded me of being on vacation on Kauai. Makes a ton! Used leftovers to make Kalua Pork “Burgers” with cole slaw.

This is so easy and so good! I’ve made it several times now with both boneless and bone-in pork shoulder and it’s always perfect. With bone-in, the meat just falls off the bone and you can simply lift it out of the slow cooker! I made this with FujiMama’s kurigohan and that was the best! Also good with sweet chili sauce.

I have made this several times – it’s really delicious! I haven’t been able to find hawaiian sea salt so I just use regular sea salt. Also, my larger slow cooker runs hot, so I usually allow 10 – 12 hours cooking time.

This is one of my favorite easy meals. I usually do it in the oven in a roasting pan, because I don’t have a big enough slow cooker. Also, if you’re roasting pan has a rack in the bottom, it allows the fat from the meat to drip off more easily, which is healthier. Just set the oven to 350 degrees and cook it for 45 to 1 hour per pound. So delicious!
